If McMurdo Station is the land of exotic vehicles: "What the heck is that?" "I have no idea - let's drive it!", then South Pole Station is the land of exotic aircraft. This is a Basler BT-67 tail-dragger, which is actually a Douglas DC-3 airframe (built between 1936 and 1942) with new engines and extensive retrofits to increase the service lifetime. This one is operated by Antarctic Logistics Centre International (South Africa), but there are a couple of others operated by Kenn Borek Air on-continent too.
